Mark your calendar!
May 1st through May 7th is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week.
May 4, 2017 is National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day and New Hampshire wants to celebrate for the whole week! The Children’s Behavioral Health Collaborative or CBHC would like to support NH communities, health organizations, and schools with resources and ideas for events and trainings related to Awareness Week. For example, we can help you schedule movie screenings, like Disney’s’ Inside Out, or a variety of trainings such as Youth Mental Health First Aid or Gender and Orientation.
You likely know that 1 in 5 children have or have had a seriously debilitating mental disorder and that NH is currently underserving children in need of mental health services. The more awareness we can raise on these issues, the more we can improve the delivery system for children’s mental health and substance use disorder services.
To plan an event for Awareness Week:
- Click here to learn about ways you can participate and how CBHC will help
- Choose an “add water and mix” program. Most only require that you to provide a location and invite people, after letting us know of your interest.
- Click here to list your event on our statewide calendar
AND, if you schedule it before Friday, March 17, we can submit your event to be showcased on SAMHSA’s national calendar at www.samhsa.gov/children.
