Central New Hampshire – NFI North, a multi-service nonprofit organization has received a $10,000 grant from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation, a $10,000 match from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and a third match from NFI North’s Mission Fund to establish a Compassionate Dentistry Fund for individuals in their Transitional Housing Services (THS). The organization is one of New Hampshire’s largest providers of THS with programs in Manchester, Concord, Bethlehem, Ashland and Bradford.
“The work that we do in New Hampshire to help people to regain independence and stability within their own communities is critically important” Concord THS Program Director Sharon Bilodeau explained, “And Dental Health is something that can present a real barrier to success for our participants. The opportunity to help them to live and eat without pain and to smile with confidence is sure to be a game changer- good dental health contributes to good mental health.”
NFI North’s Executive Director, Dr. Paul Dann explained that the need for this program has been long standing. “We are so grateful to Northeast Delta Dental and to the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation for teaming up to help us create this transformative program – we are looking forward to demonstrating the impact that these funds will have and hope to expand the program’s accessibility to include all 26 programs of our service array.”
Dental services provided by the new Compassionate Dentistry Fund will provide dental services that are uncovered by other sources of insurance and funding to include implants and dentures. For more information please email AlisaGibson@nafi.com.
